In November 2013, The Rockefeller Foundation hosted “The Future of Revaluing Ecosystems.” This was the second in its series of high-level meetings focused on advancing inclusive economies that expand opportunities for more broadly shared prosperity, and building greater resilience by helping people, communities and institutions prepare for, withstand and emerge stronger from acute shocks and chronic stresses. The Foundation works in four domains to achieve these goals, and those constitute the themes of the meetings: improving cities, ecosystems, health and livelihoods. By bringing together diverse and sometimes opposing perspectives to explore future trends, the convenings serve to strengthen the capacities of leading organizations from around the world to anticipate and adapt to rapidly emerging opportunities and challenges.
