The final day of the Social Capital Markets (SOCAP) 2014 Conference concluded with many more of your innovative ideas and applications for innovative finance in global development.
During the opening plenary on Wednesday, we told you that we’d be looking for your #BigIdeas on Twitter to gain insights on where you see the most potential for innovative finance to take root. We watched Twitter buzz with ideas on transportation, education, and employment, and on the final day of SOCAP, we heard how many of you are hoping to take innovative financial solutions—such as impact investing and social impact bonds—and apply them to new sectors and geographies.
Some of your suggestions include:
1. Using social impact bonds to support public health

2. Using our experiences in microcredit to support higher education through student empowerment
@RockefellerFdn We’re awfully fond of #microsavings to empower students, making them 7x more likely to attend college!

3. Using what we’ve learned about the intersection of technology and innovative finance to support new hybrid technology-impact ventures
