Project: “The Descendants (a novel)”
Ladee Hubbard is a critically acclaimed author and the recipient of a 2022 Guggenheim Award, a Berlin Prize, a Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers’ Award, and a fellowship from the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Studies at Harvard University. She visited Bellagio in August 2023 to write a novel considering the representation of Black identity in the United States at the specific intersection of ideas about public health and public safety. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at Tulane University.
