Dixon Chibanda is the Director for the African Mental Health Research Initiative and works on developing, testing, and validating alternative interventions to address mental, neurological, and substance use disorders. He is the founder of the Friendship Bench, a program that seeks to reduce the treatment gap for common mental disorders in Zimbabwe that has been scaled up to over 70 primary care clinics throughout the country.
