New series to engage world leaders and change-makers in exchange of world-changing ideas
NEW YORK—The Rockefeller Foundation today announced Insight Dialogues, a live event and digital content series focused on sparking global conversations and action around the most pressing issues of our time. The new series will facilitate an exchange of ideas and inform the Foundation’s ongoing work to improve the lives of poor and vulnerable people around the world.
As the official media collaborator of Insight Dialogues, The Huffington Post will work with The Rockefeller Foundation to share highlights and learnings from the dialogues with a global audience.
“Convening great minds to inspire innovation sits at the heart of what The Rockefeller Foundation does, and has done for more than 100 years. From seeding the Green Revolution to building the field of impact investing, these moments of transformations begin with a simple conversation,” said Judith Rodin, president of The Rockefeller Foundation. “Insight Dialogues is a way for people to view, learn from, and engage in important conversations in the hopes of stimulating further exchange and igniting the spirit of innovation.”
Beginning May 17th, the Foundation will host the first of four dialogues at its New York City headquarters. The first dialogue will feature Robin Wright, award-winning actress and advocate, for an in-depth discussion on her role in the hit Netflix series, House of Cards, and her real life role as an advocate committed to women’s empowerment around the world. The live event will be moderated by Rockefeller Foundation President Judith Rodin.
“Whether it is through philanthropy or using your platform to bring about change, we can all play a role in building a more inclusive society,” said Robin Wright. “I’m honored to be a part of this new series and energized by the impact that it will have on topics that are near and dear to my heart.”
The second dialogue on June 23rd will feature award-winning composer and performer Lin-Manuel Miranda. The conversation with Lin-Manuel, moderated by President Rodin, will explore the role of arts in education, how art influences culture and what factors influenced his recent works, including the musical, Hamilton. The live event will once again be hosted at The Rockefeller Foundation.
“I believe in the power of the arts to create dialogue, engender empathy, and make us reckon with our lives and the world in which we live. It is in this spirit that I am thrilled to be one of the first guests of Insight Dialogues,” said Lin-Manuel Miranda. “The more voices at the table, the better.”
To inspire excitement and engagement around Insight Dialogues, The Rockefeller Foundation is releasing a new video that provides a first-look at the vision and goal for these dynamic conversations. The Foundation will also develop rich, interactive content for distribution and syndication across various mediums, aiming to enable anyone, anywhere to understand, and engage more deeply with issues—ranging from inclusion to the arts.
