The Rockefeller Foundation is deeply concerned about the passage of the new Anti-Homosexuality Act of 2023 in Uganda, which calls for harsh punishment for anyone convicted of homosexuality. This law endangers the health and safety of individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+, limiting their ability to disclose their sexual orientation to health workers or employers and affecting their ability to meet their basic needs and live freely. The passage of this law threatens progress in making opportunity universal and sustainable.
This PRIDE month — and every month — The Rockefeller Foundation stands in solidarity with LGBTQIA+ communities around the world.
