This week, the world received some additional good news about advances in the response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Moderna announced its vaccine candidate has proven effective thus far in a continuing trial. Meanwhile, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued an emergency authorization for the first at-home test for Covid-19, as developed by Lucira Health.
Both of these developments will further accelerate the fight against Covid-19 in the United States and around the world. But at a moment when infections and deaths are surging, everyone must remain vigilant and committed to doing everything it takes to end the pandemic: widespread testing, tracing, supported isolation, mask wearing and social distancing.
Until the pandemic is over for everyone, The Rockefeller Foundation will continue to work to ensure there’s equity in access to advances in testing, tracing, and – when they’re available – vaccine solutions.
