Nakazawa is Queens-based Japanese/Uruguayan artist working across textiles, painting, and social practice. Her woven tapestries incorporate public domain images from the online archives and collections of major institutions, layering imagery that questions national identities. Her panels serve as accumulation points for materials from the past, present and future. They are speculative spaces, where she can simultaneously live in multiple times and tell a story across a variety of perspectives.
