Project: “Democracy in the age of AI”
Camille Francois is a leading scholar of cyber conflict who advises technology companies and governments around the globe on issues related to cybersecurity and digital rights. While in Bellagio in June of 2023, she conducted research on AI and democracy. Camille has advised governments and parliamentary committees on both sides of the Atlantic—from investigating Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election on behalf of the U.S. Senate Select Intelligence Committee, to leading the French government’s 2022 inquiry into the economic opportunities and social challenges presented by the metaverse. Camille has been recognized by the MIT Tech Review’s 35 Innovators under 35, and by TIME Magazine’s “100 Next” Global Leaders. Currently, she is the Senior Director for Trust & Safety at Niantic, a pioneering augmented reality company.
