Project: “Criminal Justice in a Time of Populism: Safeguarding Democracy and the Rule of Law”
David Sklansky is a law scholar, specializing in criminal law and criminal procedure. Sklansky came to Bellagio in July 2022 to work on a book about the implications of the rise of political polarization and divisive forms of populism in the U.S. and around the world, for policing, prosecution, criminal adjudication, and punishment. He previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Los Angeles. Sklansky is presently Stanley Morrison Professor of Law and Faculty Co-Director of the Stanford Criminal Justice Center at Stanford University.
