Project: “Coming, Being, Going: Stories”
Diana Evans is a critically acclaimed British author of Nigerian and English descent and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. Her novels have won numerous awards including, the Orange Award for New Writers, New Yorker book of the year, British Book Awards deciBel Writer of the Year, and South Bank Sky Arts Award for Literature. She was also on the shortlist for the Women’s Prize for Fiction. Her journalism, criticism and essays have appeared in TIME magazine, Vogue, and Harper’s Bazaar. Diana visited Bellagio in March 2023 to work on a series of linked short stories portraying the varied experiences of black British people, revealing a relatively hidden section of the British middle class and counteracting routine negative stereotypes perpetuated by the mainstream media.
