Project: “No More Maybe and Other Stories”
Gish Jen is an award-winning novelist and writer who has published work in the New Yorker, the Atlantic, and dozens of other periodicals. Her work has been chosen for The Best American Short Stories five times, including The Best American Short Stories of the Century, edited by John Updike. Jen is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, sits on the Board of Directors of the MacArthur Foundation, and was a Visiting Professor at Harvard in 2022. Her most recent book, a collection of stories entitled Thank You, Mr. Nixon, was named a best book of the year by the New Yorker, NPR, and Oprah Magazine; it is her ninth book. While at Bellagio, Jen worked on a new novel.
