Isabella Hammad’s first novel, “The Parisian,” won a Palestine Book Award, the Sue Kaufman Prize from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and a “5 Under 35” from the National Book Foundation. Her second novel, “Enter Ghost,” is forthcoming in 2023. She has received fellowships from the Lannan Foundation and MacDowell, and has taught creative writing at NYU and Brown University. In April 2022, she visited Bellagio to begin a new novel exploring the mistaken afterimages of a central moment in anticolonial history through the story of two women who meet at the 1955 Asian-African Conference in Bandung, Indonesia.
