Jim Fruchterman is a leading social entrepreneur, a MacArthur Fellow, a recipient of the Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship, and a Distinguished Alumnus of Caltech. His life’s work is applying technology to benefit the 95% of humanity typically neglected by for-profit tech companies. Jim visited Bellagio in July 2023 to write the definitive book on how to create and operate a nonprofit social enterprise using technology to solve a social need. He is currently the Founder and CEO of Tech Matters, a nonprofit advancing large-scale social impact by matching proven technology to complex social challenges.
