Project: “Global Philanthropy Center Plan”
Melissa Berman is a widely-recognized expert in philanthropy who has authored numerous articles and spoken at universities around the world. She came to Bellagio in November 2023 to develop a plan for a new Global Philanthropy Center to promote both academic- and practitioner-based research, convenings, and training for the global philanthropic sector. Melissa is the founding President and CEO of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, a nonprofit social enterprise whose mission is to accelerate philanthropy in pursuit of a just world. She is also an adjunct Professor at Columbia University’s Business School and serves on the Board of Trustees for Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, the Adrian Brinkerhoff Foundation, and Candid.
