Nicola Sturgeon

H.E. Nicola Sturgeon is the First Minister of Scotland and Leader of the Scottish National Party – the first woman to hold either position. She has been a member of the Scottish Parliament since 1999 in addition to numerous government positions, including serving as Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing and Cabinet Secretary for Infrastructure, Investment and Cities. Throughout this period she also served as Deputy First Minister of Scotland. Prior to government, she worked as a solicitor. She has actively campaigned for gender equality and climate action throughout her career, most recently hosting Gender Day at COP26 in Glasgow.
