Project: “24-Decade History of Popular Music”
Rob Epstein has been making groundbreaking, socially relevant films for over four decades. Epstein came to Bellagio in July 2022 to work on a documentary concert version of Taylor Mac’s marathon theatrical performance “A 24-Decade History of Popular Music,” which won the 2017 Edward M. Kennedy Award for Drama Inspired by American History and was a 2017 Pulitzer Prize Finalist for Drama. Epstein is the recipient of two Academy Awards, five Emmy Awards, three Peabody Awards, and a Guggenheim Fellowship, among many other accolades.
