Project: “The Social and Behavioral Determinants of Cancer”
Robert A. Hiatt is a leading expert in cancer epidemiology with a background holding high leadership positions at the U.S. National Cancer Institute as well as other major organizations in his field. At Bellagio in April 2022, he worked on an upcoming book focused on the complex relationship of social, environmental, psychological and biological pathways leading to cancer that can form a stronger basis for its prevention and care. He is a Professor and immediate past Chair of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and the Associate Director of Population Sciences for the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.
