Project: “Keeping Children Safe “the challenge of my lifetime: of our lifetime”
Susan Bissell is a human rights expert, known for her work as a leading actor in the field of international child protection at the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), where she worked for three decades. Bissell came to Bellagio in November 2022 to work on a scholarly text on the protection of children and a “life story”, intended for those interested in international careers in the field of child protection beyond what is often understood to be child protective services. Bissell is a Senior Fellow and Visiting Scholar at the FXB Centre for Human Rights, in the Harvard School of Public Health.
