Project: “GIVE IT A SHOT”
Vaishali Sinha is an Indian documentary filmmaker, curator, and field-builder whose films have won jury awards for Best Documentary at multiple film festivals as well as a Critics Choice Award in India. Her work highlights human stories behind complex issues of sexuality, reproduction, and technology with a focus on their impacts on women. Vaishali came to Bellagio in February 2023 to work on a new film, Give It A Shot, which explores the odyssey of India’s third original pharmaceutical invention: a long-acting male contraceptive. Vaishali has served as directing mentor for several fellowship programs including Kartemquin Films’ Diverse Voices in Documentary program. She also recently co-founded an Artist Sustenance Grant for the Bitchitra Collective: Indian Women in Documentary.
