Project: “Pandemic lessons”
Zeynep Tufekci is a widely published sociologist, scholar, and writer focused on big social challenges that defy disciplinary boundaries and simple answers. She is currently a columnist for The New York Times and the inaugural director of the Craig Newmark Center for Journalism Ethics and Security at Columbia University. She has also written for publications such as The Atlantic, Wired, Scientific American and was a 2002 Pulitzer Prize finalist for her insightful columns in the The New York Times and The Atlantic. Zeynep visited Bellagio in July 2023 to write a book about the role of the media in pandemic response.
