Anticipate and Localize: Leveraging Humanitarian Funding To Create More Sustainable Food Systems
At a time when the world has the largest humanitarian appeals, the largest numbers of people who are food insecure and the largest funding gaps in history, a new report from The Rockefeller Foundation identifies crucial reforms to humanitarian food aid that would improve response to crises, avert future crisis, and build resilient, sustainable food systems. It identifies main shortcomings in the governance and delivery of food aid and makes key recommendations that serve as a blueprint for systems change that will ensure a food security for all. The report was spearheaded by Catherine Bertini, former Executive Director of the World Food Programme and now leader of the Foundation’s Global Nutrition Security portfolio, and Report Chair Carol Bellamy, former Executive Director of UNICEF.Download PDF
